Skype and 3 announce a 3G Skypephone

Skype and 3 mobile operator have announced a GSM-enabled Skypephone in this week. The Skypephone is a GSM 3G mobile phone that offers free Skype to Skype calls including video calls as well as send Skype instant messages from your handset to other Skype users for free as well.

The 3G Skypephone also has all the standard functionality of a mobile phone. This Skype phone is based on the Qualcomm BREW platform and features a 2 megapixel digital camera, mp3 player, mobile TV, internet, Bluetooth connectivity, Java 3D games, 2-inch 262K TFT display with 176 x 220 pixels resolution, 16MB internal memory capacity expandable with microSD cards up to 1GB.
With the lack of Wi-Fi, 3G Skypephone will be sold exclusively by 3 mobile operator in the UK, Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, Macau and Sweden on November 2007.
